Net-Zero Challenge

As an Indigenous-owned Canadian small business, Maverin Inc. is deeply dedicated to environmental stewardship and sustainability. Our connection to the land and respect for nature are integral to our core values and operations. We strive to integrate sustainable practices into every aspect of our work, ensuring that our services are delivered in an environmentally responsible manner.

Recognizing the need to urgently address climate change and create a cleaner future for the generations to come, Maverin is proud to announce that we have joined Canada’s Net-Zero Challenge. Our goal is to achieve Net-Zero by 2050.

To demonstrate our commitment and track our progress, we will be reporting annually on our climate commitments. This announcement marks our first step towards transparency and accountability in our journey to Net-Zero. Our strategic priorities for 2024 include:

  • Developing a strong roadmap to Net-Zero including clear interim targets and milestones;
  • Developing operational plans to reduce emissions in-house through the implementation of Scope 1 and Scope 2 mitigation strategies;
  • Creating carbon accounting tools to measure and report on emissions; and
  • Researching and evaluating carbon offset providers, including those using compliance-based systems and from the voluntary market.

As we look to the year ahead, we are excited to explore further opportunities to reduce our environmental impact and inspire positive change. Through transparency, accountability, and strategic planning, we are confident that we can achieve Net-Zero emissions by 2050 and help lead the way to a more sustainable future for Canada and its Indigenous peoples and communities.
