What we set

One strictly-necessary cookie:

• NEXT_LOCALE · purpose: stores your selected language (English or French) · lifetime: 1 year · classification: strictly necessary · third-party: no.

When you submit the contact form, Cloudflare Turnstile (our spam-protection service) may set a short-lived cookie scoped to challenges.cloudflare.com only — it never appears as a cookie on maverin.com. It expires once the verification completes.

What we don't set

• No advertising cookies.
• No analytics cookies. Vercel Web Analytics and Speed Insights — the products we use to understand traffic and real-user performance — are cookieless by design (visitor identifiers are hashed server-side with daily-rotated salts).
• No social-media tracking pixels.
• No fingerprinting beyond what your browser exposes by default.

Why no consent banner?

Under PIPEDA (Canada), Quebec Law 25, and the GDPR (EU/UK), strictly-necessary cookies do not require explicit consent. Because we set no non-strictly-necessary cookies, no banner is required. If we ever add tracking or advertising cookies, we'll add a banner at that point — not preemptively.

How to clear them

Browser → settings → privacy → clear browsing data. Or set your browser to reject all cookies; the site will still work, but it won't remember your language preference between visits.
